UK - Gloucester Food Bank

Food is donated from schools, churches, businesses and individuals. Only non-perishable, in-date food can be donated to the foodbank. All food given out by foodbanks is donated.  Care professionals such as family support workers in children's centres and some schools, health visitors, social workers, and Gloucester Communities identify people in crisis and issue them with a foodbank voucher.

Foodbank clients bring their voucher to a foodbank centre where it can be redeemed for three day’s emergency food. Volunteers meet clients over a cup of tea or free hot meal and are able to signpost people to agencies able to solve the longer-term problem.
